Global Domain Marketplace — GEO (AI SEO) Authority Program

A large international domain marketplace sought to improve its visibility in AI-driven search systems while strengthening traditional organic performance. Despite significant backlink volume and brand recognition, the platform lacked the structured topical authority and schema foundations required for AI citation and generative search visibility. Over a 4-month GEO (AI SEO) program, we rebuilt its on-site authority structure and significantly increased both organic performance and AI citations.

Context

Starting Point:

At program launch, the platform had scale but lacked AI-optimised structure.

According to the initial audit:

  • 10.3K monthly organic clicks

  • 694K monthly impressions

  • 45M backlinks

  • Limited coverage of transactional keywords

  • Minimal AI citations (ChatGPT 4, Google 1, Copilot 6)

The key issue was not domain strength.

It was missing structured, citable authority.

AI systems had limited extractable knowledge assets to reference.

Strategic Objective:

The program was designed around two parallel goals:

  1. Increase traditional SEO visibility through structured topical expansion

  2. Achieve measurable traction in AI citations across generative platforms

The roadmap was executed in three phases:

  • Research and AI sourcing analysis

  • On-site GEO foundation

  • Authority reinforcement preparation

Confidentiality Note:

Due to the competitive nature of the client’s industry and the strategic SEO framework implemented, the company name is not publicly disclosed.

Scope of Delivery

GEO Foundation & Structured Knowledge Base

Delivered a full AI-first knowledge base including:

  • 20 structured authority pages

  • Pillar and cluster content

  • FAQ schema in JSON-LD

  • Entity markup

  • Internal linking improvements

These pages were built specifically for AI retrieval and citation.

Topics covered core domain marketplace concepts, safety considerations, and transactional guidance.

Schema & Extractable Content

Implemented structured FAQ blocks and homepage schema to create “extractable answers” for AI systems.

Validated crawl alignment and schema integrity.

Scalable Listing SEO Architecture

Audited and redesigned listing page framework to enable:

  • Dynamic titles and meta descriptions

  • Product schema per listing

  • Improved internal linking

  • Optional structured intro copy generation

This created a multiplier effect across a large-scale inventory.

Authority Reinforcement Preparation

Prepared off-site authority strategies to support citation growth and close the competitive PR gap.

Results

  1. Traditional SEO Performance

Within the program period:

  • Monthly clicks increased by 85 percent (10.3K → 19.1K)

  • Impressions increased by 74 percent (694K → 1.21M)

  • Average ranking improved from position 23 to 12.4

  • Organic keywords expanded to 28.7K

This confirmed the roadmap hypothesis: structured topical authority and schema improved trust and ranking expansion.

  1. AI / Generative Search Visibility

The primary objective was AI citation growth.

By program completion:

  • 114 AI mentions

  • 72 cited pages

  • ChatGPT alone: 21 mentions and 62 cited pages

  • Additional visibility across Google AI Overview, Copilot, Perplexity, Gemini, and AI Mode

The platform transitioned from near-zero AI visibility to being actively cited as an answer source.

Impact:

The program transformed the platform from a backlink-heavy but structurally shallow site into a citable authority source within AI-driven search environments.

The remaining limiter identified in the final report is off-site authority reinforcement, not on-site structure.

This indicates that the foundational work is complete and scalable
